Pros

The only good thing about this job other than the stable hours, are some of the people I work with.

Cons

There is a lot of butt kissing in this company, a lot of favoritism and special treatment for the chosen few. They may call themselves catholic, but the only real evidence of that I can see is that they won't cover birth control and they all seem to want to drink. Recently they started this new practice of not hiring people who smoke. I don't smoke, but I think that's wrong. What a person does on their own time is their own business. It's a joke anyway. It just causes new hires who do smoke to lie about it. They have created chaos by changing our operating system and keep piling more work onto us while taking away workers and still expect us to get things done while constantly inturrupting with special "meetings" that are meaningless. We have to do more with less. Then get in trouble when we can't keep up. They've taken our benefits and turned them into a three ring circus. We have to jump through hoops just to keep them, now we're going to get docked $50 a paycheck if we want to cover a working spouse or child. They don't listen to the workers. It's all about how much the uppercrust can make. I'm sure some CEO needs to pay for his summer home and new boat.

Pros

Great team work, most doctors treat nurses with respect

Cons

Politics can make it difficult at times, not much room for career advancement within the system unless willing to travel or relocate. Lots of turnover from leadership

Pros

Decent pay rates for nurses, incentives, differentials. Great co-workers. Loved my manager & admins there, believe it or not!

Cons

Well they run it like a business, to make a profit and they will quickly eliminate/change what- or whom-ever they need to make keep the cash flowing. Sometimes, (or at least it's how it looks to me), they do it at the expense of reducing patient resources & access to care in rural areas.
