Pros

- Friendly and kind coworkers for the most part. - Home office stipend upon being hired was nice. - Remote work. - Queer-friendly.

Cons

- Laid off 10%+ of the company just before the holidays without enough severance to get all of those laid off through the holidays. Explicitly stated that the work done by those laid off wouldn't be redistributed to remaining staff in one meeting, only for the very next meeting to include a conversation about how that work would need to be redistributed among remaining staff. - Predominantly white organization. Almost no people of color in leadership positions. - Many folks work long hours, including nights and weekends, sometimes for weeks at a time. - Benefits are both expensive and not particularly great, with many of my claims being retroactively adjusted to require more payment from me. Out-of-pocket employee premiums for identical coverage year over year went up nearly 50% for those with families this plan year. - The InfoSec team is incredibly combative/argumentative with others in the organization. I've witnessed multiple instances where the CISO has shouted over/at others in meetings. Other members of that team have been similarly negative in other meetings I've attended, as well. - Very few benefits outside of health/vision/dental. No 401(k) matching. No recurring home office/internet benefit. No bonuses I've been given details about (there was mention of a bonus during the hiring process, but when I asked for specific numbers I didn't receive any). - Low morale, especially following the recent layoffs. - I discovered after being hired that I am being paid among the lowest (by ~30%/tens of thousands of dollars a year) of anyone in my department at the same level of seniority as me despite being told during the hiring process that I was being brought in at the top of my position's salary band.

Pros

- Good mission - LGBTQ+ friendly - Health insurance covered 100% for employee - Remote

Cons

Dishonest management - Constantly taking credit for others’ work - quick to dismiss ideas only to later present them as their own - Lack of communication with the team - new projects are brought up last minute typically starting with “As you know…” even though it is the first time it has been mentioned - Do not make timely decisions and lack of prioritization - Bias towards talk rather than action

Pros

- Amazing, hardworking coworkers - Remote, WFH - Up to 30 days of PTO - Opportunities to work on tasks outside your skillset

Cons

The following has been true the entirety of the time I've worked here, not just during layoff season: - No bonuses - No raises without a promotion policy - No annual cost-of-living adjustments - Moving goalposts for promotions, raises, and transfers - Culture of "someone else's failure to plan is absolutely your emergency" - Very white organization with almost all-white leadership - Insurance benefits downgraded - Hard to find time to take your PTO - Obligation to work on tasks outside your skillset
