Pros
A lot of independence to teach as you see fit.
Cons
1) mileage is only reimbursed at 10 cents a mile. The IRS rate is 55 cents. 2) prep time is not compensated. You normally need to prep ten hours for every 1 you teach. 3) they don’t keep you teaching one thing. They have a “training” wage, and they never let you teach more that 3 classes in any subject to get to the higher wage. 4) they have no actual textbooks in their name

Pros
You can choose your own schedules, teaching style, and students from their assignments. If something doesn't fit your schedule, you don't need to feel obligated to take it. On the other hand, if you're struggling to find work, it's the perfect way to add a little extra to your bank account.
Cons
Don't expect raises or bonuses. And you'll rarely ever get to teach classes if you're not in a big city, if that's what you were expecting.
