Pros

At the core, the culture Manic Panic was founded on can still be found in their location.

Cons

The amount of micromanagement was startling. The owners are very hands on even though they have little knowledge of what is relevant in this day and age. I would be surprised if their company lasted more than 10 years with them still ruling every single aspect. There is very little room for thinking out of the box, or even trying to bring new ideas to the table, they will be shot down. The workplace is pretty terrible as well, everyone talks about one another, and it's not your usual workplace chit chat, some of it is very malicious. I worked there for too long, wish I could get some of my time back because I gained almost nothing from my time there.

Our current employees will tell you the opposite. They are happy to work side by side with the founders. This employee didn't even report to us, and we rarely interacted with her. She had 2 managers to whom she reported. She has little knowledge of what is necessary/relevant to a small business. From what I'm told this was her first experience in an office environment.

Old company with old school practices.

Might be good for people who lack the experience or skills to get into the beauty industry.

Cons

Nearly everything else. Owners are woefully involved in every single aspect despite not having any sort of demonstrable knowledge in any area. They manage very “old school” as in they don’t trust anyone, they want to actively monitor every second of your remote workday, clear favoritism, people are expendable , etc. The brand itself is very nostalgia-based which actually works against it. No structure at all despite management attempts to implement because the owners want to fly by the seat of their pants. Suggest you look elsewhere. Also suggest you ignore the clearly fake positive reviews all posted in one month. A third-party company did that.

Creative work with hair color.

Cons

Low pay No benefits No PTO first year Laptop monitoring for “productivity” Owners are micromanagers with little structure. Owners and managers alike encourage dividing employees in order to get them to work harder for no extra pay. This includes trash talking employees on meeting calls.
