Pros

the project is actually meaningful - educational games for children - which is on the rarer side in the world of game development. Everyone at the studio is positive, friendly and highly skilled. If you like working remotely, this is the place for you, as this is a truly international team of developers!

Cons

working remotely can lead to some gaps, but those will be filled in by time as you get familiar with where everything is/who you need to talk to about what.

Pros

It is a challenging, creative work environment that offers unique strategies to help students ace the GMAT and GRE. Mindojo forces you to think outside the box when writing content or tutoring - learning the inner workings of both tests helped me to think logically and reason critically in a way I previously was not accustomed to. The staff is friendly and quick to offer constructive feedback on how to improve your work. As another plus, working with students from all over the world as a tutor is fun and rewarding and you get to meet some fascinating people. The company is a rising star academically and its programs have had positive results for many students.

Cons

I encountered some communication issues during my time there, both in terms of learning the standards for content writing and later as my assignment for tutoring began. However, the staff was willing to work to resolve these issues and quickly find a solution. I always felt that my concerns were respected and properly addressed.

Pros

-Working on a project that reviewed and enhanced my own business skill set -Learning from and assisting colleagues--we interchanged regularly in a chat room and via email -Hard working management team -Flexible schedule & we were asked to estimate our availability as new assignments were released -Review older and learn new financial concepts -A business, application-based perspective, not an academic one -Commission based compensation--perfect for a self-starter. Rewards working at a business pace and NOT an academic pace. Deadlines and expectations change as the product evolves. -Management’s common sense and ability to pivot as necessary with not only a new product, but an industry that is just now beginning to gain momentum. This firm has the ability to be a leader in the virtual learning and certification business.

Cons

My only criticisms are the ones you would expect from starting a new a new project in a virtual environment. You don't have the ability to be in the room for key discussions as the market and product are quickly evolving. Regular, enhanced communication would help mitigate this issue. But I have worked with a number of start-ups and online organizations, and these issues just come with the nature of virtual employment. In my opinion, this firm--managers, employees and contractors--has positioned itself to reap significant rewards in this market.
