Plug Power reviews about "training"

- Production work is very repetitive - Cross-training only happens once production goals are met & the right people agree to it, so can feel stuck and bored for many months - My Lean Manufacturing experience was praised during the interview, but have had little to no opportunities to practice it (they have a different role handle work process improvements, and don't seem interested to hear the suggestions of anyone else/the people working said processes) - Parts of the work area are in bad condition, the promised improvements have yet to be seen after 9+ months (ex: new outlet close enough to work device to avoid daisy-chaining power strips, enough outlets to power all the work devices that avoids blowing the circuit, broken wood holding up the work device above the floor has yet to be replaced) - Communication between day/night shifts seems to be broken/somewhat dysfunctional (decisions made on one shift are disagreed with/reversed on another, leading to a waste of time & energy as "good"/"bad" parts are moved back and fort to different areas)

Pay is not fair, very little training. They mostly depend on you to be trained by other employees some of which don't know how to do what your asking them to teach to you.

Poor management of onboarding and training. A lot of miscommunication between groups. Always seems to be a “need this now” mentality.

Not trying to hire people, revolving door with employees. Training comes from other employees, some managers don't handle work violence correctly.

Extremely poor management system. Poor morale among coworkers and management. Poor communication throughout company. No real training for Techs. Supplied tools only in claifornia and they don't provide all tools that are needed. Manipulative management. Equipment is extremely unreliable and there are no reliable sources to assist with repairs. Contacting engineering for equipment issues turns into you not knowing how to do your job. They attempt to use a step pay program to pay you less but expect you to do 6 different jobs. Absolutely no worklife balance.

Being promoted to a new position requires traveling

Lie to employees about the status of the company every week. Fail to mention numerous failing sites, can't retain good talent due to management that literally sit at home, don't assist in any way to the sites. Place all the work load on the sites with poor training and even worse trainers.

Totally mismanaged. Hasn't made a profit in almost 30 years. Always changing shift schedules. Lots of down time because no one has a clue of what is going on as things constantly fail test or the parts are defective. They constantly shuffle people around because they are always doing damage control. Lots of throwing people under the bus. No real support from management. Interview style and yearly reviews they go into with the mindset of finding every reason not to hire and not to give raises/ quarterly bonuses. Also they hire temp's saying it's temp to perm but review to become perm is a mindset of finding every reason not to make the temp a permanent employee. They just don't give a care about the employees especially if they are not on A shift. Also 401k match is with their stock that is absolutely worthless. Training is an absolute joke. HR is definitely pro employer so any issues and employee brings to HR puts that employee on the radar to be fired. Also it's word of mouth for hires and raises. There's no performance matrix based raises. So you can be a hard worker but if you don't make management notice it goes unnoticed. It's just a very highschool clique kind of environment with management. Which management will throw crew leads under the bus to cover their butt's Also they fudge the numbers in testing because they know it will fail and if it fails in the field they have maintenance contracts which is what they want money made from. So lots of reworks come back as well as remanufacturing work. They hype green Hydrogen and being end to end. Yet they can't even keep enough hydrogen at the plant to keep the hydrogen forklift and pallet jack running.
