Pros

If you keep your head down, you can skate by and get paid to do almost no work. I witnessed employees no-show and/or completely disengage for months before ever getting spoken to. This is basically only true on the engineering or management side - manufacturing is a whole different ballgame. But if the CTO was able to be absent for months at a time, so can you!

Cons

If you do something silly like sign up for more work or prove yourself competent, you're doomed. Management will try to work you literally to death. 16 hour unpaid days, understaffed with inadequate supplies.

Pros

If you get along with the status quo and keep head down, you can make quick money for a while

Cons

All of the leader, including the CTO are not technical competent. They are throw everything at the engineer without adequate support. You will not work there for long. It is my biggest mistake in my career to accept this offer over the other simply because it is a space company.

Pros

If you get hired in to management and fit in to the clique, you're golden. The company is good about bringing interns in, and has scored some good results. It would be a good place to start as an intern, since there's a chance you'll fit in with the clique.

Cons

This company was a dynamic start-up just a couple years ago, but quickly became any other company. For anyone that has worked with NASA, you will know this to be true: it's very top down. The management makes decisions that the engineers are supposed to sign off on. Sidus is exactly like this. There is a small clique of people (and not necessarily engineers) that make technical decisions. Others, qualified or not, are strongly discouraged from contributing. HR has brought in toxic policies from their former company to encourage older employees to leave. The owner of the company is impressive in her drive, but her company is being sapped by those she trusts.
