Pros

Pay is ok, co-workers are fantastic. Casual dress code is a bonus.

Cons

The minimum 25 hour requirement for part time is ridiculous. A lot of people that work here also work full time jobs and are expected to work the minimum, including one weekend day. Life/Work balance not happening here. I worked 38 hours a week for this company and was still considered part time. 10 minute breaks are a joke. I loved being scheduled 7.75 hours with two 10 minute breaks and no lunch break. If you were lucky enough to work a 12 hour shift, then you were given one 15 minute break along with your 10 minutes and lunch break. Gracious. I love the mandatory overtime. Already working 60 hours this week? Don't worry, a team leader will come around with a sign up sheet so you can add more hours. Don't even think about talking or joking with your co-workers. That is a big no no. You can pass notes, but be careful, you never know when a team leader is trolling around looking for a reason to write you up. And believe me, they will write you up for anything and everything. If you get on a team leaders bad side or short list, don't worry, they will be there to harass you to the point of committing murder. Favoritism runs strong throughout this company, so if you like kissing butt, then this is a good place for you. Don't worry, it won't get you anywhere except the gossip rounds. The morale here is low. When there are 60+ calls on hold with 10, 11 minute hold times, the team leaders will be decorating the call center or counting paperclips. Want your kids birthday off? Have a death in the family? Sorry, there are only 25 days that aren't black out days and those days won't work. You can call in and use the crappy no fault attendance policy. Don't use it too much though, you will get written up for that. Don't leave your coat on the back of your chair or some moron will trip on it. Write your name on your lunch to keep people from stealing it. What? Don't forget to risk your life during bad weather for the good of the company. Oh, good news! There are attendance points for that too! Love working holidays? Plenty of those to go around too, except Christmas Day. That will probably change too. The best part of this company is the abuse you get to take from customers and management. It never gets old. This place literally sucks the life out of you. A lot of us have been brought to tears from these people. I'm sure all their black hearts skip beats with delight when this happens. Especially when you tell the management that these customers are terrible, they act like you poisoned their Grandmother on her death bed. If you go to HR with anything it gets filed under the " we don't care " folder. Company emails and stupid surveys are expected to be read on your break. Pfffft. Don't come in too early to log on to the 10,000 applications you have to have going, but make sure you get it done 3 minutes after you clock in. If you're lucky to find a chair you like and are comfortable in, don't worry that will be gone the next day too since you aren't guaranteed to sit in the same spot more than once. Hopefully you don't get stuck next to the person that hasn't showered in 6 days ( how did they get hired anyway? ) or the person who wears enough perfume for every person in the call center. Once you get past all that, it doesn't sound so bad right? Every single day when I woke up, the first thought in my head was that I didn't want to go to work and was depressed every day that I came in and didn't find the building engulfed in flames. I would only work here in times of desperation, and even then, would rather harvest my own organs rather than work here.

Steady decline into nothingness...

Pros

The two tolerable things this place has to offer: a FEW decent team members on your team and decent PTO.

Cons

1.) I urge you to look elsewhere and really read all of the reviews on here - the only reason some good ones are on here is because HR asked all senior management to go out and leave positive reviews... truly comical! 2.) Turnover for salaried employees is at an all time high since I've been here... the door keeps revolving and spinning. 3.) Major departments including ecommerce, planning, merchandising and marketing are not aligned at all and will stab you in the back the first chance they get and twist that knife. 4.) Strategies are determined by what new book has been read and how senior management twists the theory to fit their particular needs. 5.) The level of drama is equal to an episode of Empire. 6.) Promised raises or bonuses don't happen like they say they will. 7.) The new Merchandising/Product Development Managers backtrack on their decisions based on their moods, making long-term planning impossible. 8.) Seriously - look elsewhere unless you want to derail your career...

Pros

I can't think of anything. I've heard the benefits compare okay to other employers. Other departments may fare better, too.

Cons

i have seldom met more miserable, cliquish, immature people. I've been surprised to hear of anyone rating their experience here in any kind of satisfactory manner. It's possible other departments are more pleasant to work in than mine. It really is. We don't mix much. I certainly wish I had said no when offered this position. My supervisor gossips about everyone else right behind me. The HR dept is borderline psychotic. The health initiatives would be fun for someone, but I am personally consistently resentful about being told how to live my life. You can even get fired here for smoking. I get it, I do, but my business is my business. I don't even smoke, but the idea that they could tell me what I can or can't do on my personal time is offensive. Work/life balance is a joke here. Your life is here. If i get harassed about one more fitness initiative or blood drive, I'm going to pop a vein. i am my perfect weight, and very healthy, I just have no time for these intrusions and their "motherly" advice on how to eat and move and live. For some reason, they care about blood pressure, just not any other part of anyone's lives. I'm sure this approach attracts some people, but instead of organizing blood drives and other crap, I'm sure we might have better stuff to worry about. Like hiring an HR person with an actual heartbeat. If you are offered a job here, and have any other options, any at all, please do not work here.
