Horrible Owner Job Okay

Pros

Decent pay and hours Flexible job Uniform is okay Good environment Management is fine

Cons

The owner is horrible and expects way too much from a store that sells $8 slices of pie. He expects us to sell $1000’s of dollars of pie a week when even the busiest places don’t even make that much and management expects you to be able to cover shifts and respond at every minute because the staff is so small. I have a headache just thinking about how much cologne the owner wears.

Barista employment

Business Outlook

Pros

The coffee, pie, fellow baristas, and customer base is solid.

Cons

The company was in the process of opening two new stores, and the management was still organizing how to handle the increased volume and training. The evening shifts can be incredibly busy. Communication between staff and management can be improved incredibly. While there is a lot going on with managing a small business, there were times when I and other employees felt like management would make decisions without understanding how the day-to-day shifts go.
