The people in general are really great here. I count a lot of them as friends. The vacation time and benefits are generally pretty good.
Cons
It can feel like a bit of an emotional meat grinder. There is this obvious duplicity between actions and words. The county is really big on HPO(high performance organization) but in practice the management staff at higher levels will abandon HPO principles as soon as things get stressful. If you feel empowered one day you will quickly be reminded to shut your mouth and do as you're told the next.
No training given, no direction, one day you have nothing to do the next you're swamped because boss can't figure out what's due next or have any trust to let you work at your own direction. Highly dysfunctional.
