Lots of promises, very few results

Pros

At the site level there was very little office politics to deal with.

Cons

Upper management had a tendency to be unprofessional, airing dirty laundry of the company often in public settings. Corporate communication was terrible and scattered. Day to day functions at site level were not understood by DFO's or VPs leading to unrealistic expectations from both your company and your customer. Compensation aligned with someone just entering the job market, benefits are substandard. HR offers little to no support in improving work environment for field employees. A side note- for a company with women at the helm as co-CEOs, the very least you could offer the women in your company would be some kind of women's leadership program. Or maybe more women actually in leadership positions.

Thank you for your comments. We are thrilled to have incredible managers supporting our business. This is what has helped to keep our employees engaged, driven, and successful. We hope that every Turtle employee is given the opportunity and confidence to reach their goals. We agree that strong communication is extremely important within every team. As a company that is widespread across the country, we encourage each of our branches to communicate with our corporate employees every step of the way. Turtle runs on an Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS). One factor of this system involves managers meeting with their teams once every week. Employees can speak with their leaders and give updates on their work, express concerns, and ask for support if needed. This helps to maintain a constant flow of communication and ensures that each team is on the same page. Utilizing the EOS model has helped our employees to be more productive and to feel supported at work. Your feedback is important to us, and we will always work to improve our practices.

Not changing for the better.

Pros

the team that was at my site was fantastic, but I cant say the same for the company as a whole. pay was not great either from an industry standpoint. no commission structure for inside sales people was frustrating and left little incentive to stay long term.

Cons

Upper management is largely inept and embracing changes and business initiatives that not sales driven or customer focused. modeling metrics and objectives from companies like Philips are not going to lead you to success. lots of issues in our warehouse as well that were never properly addressed by site management. perpetually understaffed and overworked employees were constantly making mistakes that required sales staff intervention and expertise which pulled us away from tasks.

Pros

Turtle is make efforts to modernize their processes and customer engagement. Upper management is engaged and accessible. There is optimism for future growth.

Cons

There have been missteps in advancing technology, which is typical when undergoing change. Internal knowledge isn't documented well but people are willing to share knowledge and information when asked.

Pros

- Benefits - Vision, Medical, Dental, 401, etc. - Stock ownership plan. - Upper Management and Supervision who actually care about the success of the company and employees. They have been flexible with family/personal issues. - Holiday Parties when we have them! The owners actually come to the one in December every year and talk with everyone. Nice to know they are real people. - Free work boots every year. Have not had to provide my own uniforms and boots like old employers required. - Working for a solid company that makes smart financial decisions is a real Pro. You do not have to worry about showing up one day to a closed building. Instead you hear about the company growing.

Cons

- Some bad attitudes that management allowed to work here to long. Too many chances for the negative people who brought our moral down. - Pipe Yard is cold in the winter and hot in the summer. - Cleaning crew they have needs to be changed. - Warehouse job is not for you if you want to just hang out and get paid.

Pros

Gateway position into automotive MRO

Cons

HR department is understaffed (4 HR people for a company of 1200+), leaving too much recruiting work on the local managers. Existing S.O.P.'s are a joke, lacking any real substance. Individual sites are then left to "figure it all out as you go" instead of truly mastering a strategy and properly training new teams to reproduce that successful model. Upper management is quick to throw subordinates under the bus to save face.
