Pros

Valmont is a wonderful place to work as an engineer. The engineering team in particular is so supportive and amazing and I most other departments are the same way.

Cons

It's not perfect and I'm sure it never will be, but I know everyone does their best and wants what is best for others.

Pros

Had an awesome experience here. I came in right after the new management stepped in about a year and a half ago, and it’s been on the rise ever since. The improvements they’ve made in pay, communication, work-life balance, and overall facility upgrades have been huge, and you can feel it in the culture. They keep their eye on the ball, and it shows. I worked both day and night shifts, each with its own ups and downs, but always had a solid team around me. The coworkers are one of the best parts of the job. Like anywhere, you’ll run into a few bad apples, but most folks become like family real quick. There’s a strong team mentality, and people look out for each other. They also take care of you with uniforms and the PPE you need to get the job done safely and comfortably. Big shoutout to the night shift floor supervisor—one of the best I’ve worked under. Leadership actually listens, and the place runs with purpose. Mad respect to everyone helping build what this plant is becoming.

Cons

This ain’t easy work. It’s fast-paced, greasy, and tough on the body, especially during those first few weeks while getting the hang of things. The conditions can be extreme with the AL seasons, and the noise level is intense, especially when bolting lids or the spinner is running. You’ve got to be willing to pull your weight, stay consistent, and hold your own. But if you’ve got a solid work ethic, it’s worth it.
