Pros

Vertica is a great company to work for, full of very talented engineers with a commitment to performance and reliability. It's a great product, delivering capabilities that are hard to get elsewhere.

Cons

Vertica was purchased by a much larger company with some typical big-company habits. Vertica management tries very hard to protect workers from corporate nonsense, however.

Pros

Working at Vertica is a very collaborative endeavor. In the R & D organization, there is no drama and retention is high; many people have worked here for 5, 7 or 10 years. Very smart people in small teams and all day is not spent in meetings, there is plenty of time for IC work. Really enjoying my time here,

Cons

The onboarding process could better, maybe it is the downside of having people who have been here for so long, they don't realize how vast and complicated the product is.
