Last week was a whirlwind but we had such a great time at #RDC23! Our dev teams came away with so many useful insights that we're already putting into action to make our games the absolute best on Roblox 🏆 A few highlights from the Conference: - Voldex leaders Alex Singer and Andrew Rose took the stage Saturday to present on similarities and differences in Roblox and Mobile F2P game development and fielded some incredible questions from the audience! 👏 - Roblox continues to expand to new platforms like the Meta Quest (VR!) and PS4/PS5, opening the door for Voldex games to be enjoyed by new players and in new ultra-immersive ways! 🎮 - The first EVER RDC Women's Breakfast brought together more than 100 women from across the Roblox universe to connect and network! 💁♀️ - Our fully-remote team had several opportunities to simply hang out and have some fun together. They've made it easy to integrate virtual reality with experiences not originally designed for that form factor. Last week members of the Voldex Leadership Team had the opportunity to take part in #MGSCanada, an event aimed at providing attendees with actionable insights to maximize the growth and success of their mobile products. 📈 Voldex CEO, Alex Singer joined other industry leaders in a Founders Panel to talk about Voldex's rocket-like trajectory in an uber-competitive gaming landscape. 🚀 Later in the day, Harry Bienenstock gave an Introduction to #UGC Games and compared the Roblox platform to Mobile, F2P models. In his talk, he shared tips on getting your content discovered, leveraging brand partnerships, and improving monetization strategies. 👨🏫 We'd like to thank the wonderful people at the Mobile Growth Association for having us, and for putting on such an incredible event. 🎉🏰🐸 Spotted in the Wild: Voldex's 3-Day Orlando Adventure! 🌞🌴✨ Earlier this month, Voldex employees from across North America gathered in Orlando for the company's largest EVER in-person meet-up! The goal of the trip was simply to come together as a team, get to know one another, and have FUN. Our agenda began with an adventure-filled evening at Medieval Times. The Blue Knight of Casa Valiente was not victorious, but that didn't stop us from feasting like Royalty! ⚔🍗 The next day, our crew climbed into high-performance airboats for a guided tour of the Florida Everglades and even got to hold (or in some cases, carefully touch) a baby gator! 🐊 We closed the trip out with a round of Topgolf for some friendly competition, buffet-style dinner, and lots of laughs. 🏌♂️⛳ A big shoutout to the Voldex employees that traveled from near and far to make the week truly special. To continue to better support our live games and take on more games from talented creators, we decided to raise a Series A. We are extremely excited that our Series A was led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) with continued investment from Dune Ventures, Makers Fund, POW Interactive, and new investment from Mitch Garber’s Lalotte Ventures. Andrew Chen, general partner at a16z, has joined our board. The funding will allow us to continue to build out our team. In addition, the funding will support our existing games and allow us to acquire impressive UGC games from today’s best and brightest game creators, helping to unlock each one’s potential by developing awesome new features and updates that are organic to the IP. This marks a very exciting time for the video game industry as we move into 2023 and beyond. We expect a ton of world-class UGC games to release next year and with continued advancements in easy-to-use tools we expect even more innovative developments in this space!
