Work From Home

Work from home is not meant to be a full time thing and is used only for flexibility. However AIG provides VPN, Laptops and cell phones for remote use. Most Manager are also very reasonable on this.

For all eight years I worked at AIG I worked out of my home. At the end they did not pay for anything, but I think that is normal.

It probably depends on a person's particular boss. In my case, I've been allowed to work from home on short notice, sometimes the same day. It can be very helpful because it allows a person to put commuting time to more productive use. There are times I can get more work done and get more rest, too, by working from home.

Depends on management style, some of them are very old school

Very old fashioned . The culture is to be in the office every day even though the teams could be states apart

Flexible work agreements and work from home are huge benefits that reward the high performers. This is not allowed for every group however.
