This means, if you attempt to put in the full IRS allowed amount, you get some of it kicked back to you (here's a check and a tax bill). The plan offerings are limited (Vanguard administers). Company match is only 2% (assuming to put at least 6% in and that match is in common Amazon stock.

Minimal employer contribution, otherwise a pretty basic 401K. Can't max it out because not enough employees participate (gov't counts associates in warehouses and call centers for participation).

I don't know much about the 401K plan, I don't contribute to it. That's because you can't afford to contribute to it because Amazon pays such low wages.

Their match only vests after working there for 3 years. So that means if you worked there for less than 3 years, Amazon matches nothing whatsoever. This information is also pretty hidden, and employees will usually not realize until they leave.
