The employee discount is for 10% off items sold by Amazon.com. Not 3rd party sellers. You can save up to $100 per year (for $1000 worth of items). Interns get this benefit too; sadly there's no free or discounted Amazon Prime.

I heard its good but I have never used it.

10% off. Discount is capped at $100/yr. Would much rather have free prime.

Employee discount basically covers a Prime membership.
