Angie's List's 401k partner is American Funds, so your investment choices are limited to the mutual funds they offer. You are eligible to sign up for an account after 6 months of employment. There is no match, but after 1 year of employment they offer an automatic 3% (of your gross annual salary) safe harbor contribution to a traditional 401k account (deposited bi-weekly along with your paycheck).

Horrific. American Funds lost 20% of my investment in 4 months.

They only match 3% and the mutual fund investment options with the financial firm they use is not too great.

Best thing about Angie's List retirement plan is they automatically contribute money after one year of employment.

I am happy with the plan, though I don't know a ton about 401k's so I can't say how solid it is. What I do know is the company was extremely helpful in instructing us how to sign up and providing some education for those of us who have never had a 401k before.
