The fact that Auto-Owners has a pension at all is impressive. Given the conservative nature of the company financially, I'm confident that this benefit will not be jeopardized in the near future. Vesting requires 5 years of service with the company. Company has offered already-retired employees a lump sum in order to reduce their financial liabilities associate with the pension plan.

The pension is based on your years of service. The rate is comparable to most pension plans. Its rare to have a pension plan available these days and Auto Owners still offers one.
