Auto-Owners actively encourages its associates to take advantage of their professional development programs. A number of industry-standard courses are paid for by the company (subject to a maximum number per years). Associates interested in another part of the company (especially if they are interested in transferring to that department) are encouraged to gain additional knowledge through these exams. Such is generally looked favorably upon when there are open positions to consider.
