Low rates, discount given for participating in employee health program. Deductible is reasonable.

You pay a copay but you receive a bill in the mail for services. I have paid in full for most of my doctor visits. And they DO NOT PAY FOR OUT OF NETWORK. So if you are on vacation in another state, good luck. They also won't pay for the more advanced care such as a specialist. I was referred to endo doc for my issues and Avera paid none of it. I ended up owing over $1500.00 and I still had to pay the $35.00 copay on top of that. Also ended up in hospital for 1 week and they kept me as observation, I ended up paying everything after three days. Total cost $12000.00 plus. I owe avera over 13 grand and their payment plans suck.

This cost way too much and I had actually denied the coverage.

High copays, deductibles and coinsurance. Otherwise, it's ok with all the usual preventive care stuff being covered. Overall, nothing special.
