It is highly frowned upon to 'be sick'... When people bring in children (oddly enough) ... and even elderly people (parents or employees) visit, it is not OK, so to speak, to take a sick day. They are NOT keen on one being sick - it ends up getting everyone sick in the building and is a TERRIBLE work ethic and environment because of it.
