The stock options are virtually worthless. Since they are options the employee has to pay for them once they are vested. BUT, the company has no plans of ever going public and is unlikely to be bought out or to have a major private equity investment again anytime soon. This means that there would never be a chance to liquidate your shares and thus no way to get value from them.
