You don't get paid during summer break, winter break, etc but your health insurance continues as long as you pay the out of pocket.

Each summer we are put on a leave of absence when the school year ends. We are not paid during this Time, but are able to collect unemployment until rehired in September at the beginning of the next school year. I liked that they have it set up like this for ten month employees because it allows us to have our salary plus extra money from unemployment.
