“Moments that Matter”

 Our culture is vital to who we are and we don’t want to lose sight of the connections we’ve built and will continue to build with our team members. Flexibility is important and so are in-person interactions.

All team members, regardless of office category, may be expected to be in-person for “moments that matter.” These will usually include high-impact interactions and/or team building events where relationships are formed and trust is built. Communication and personal connection will continue to be vital to our success, especially as we continue to work and support our customers and team members.

Work Categories

• Mostly On-site: The work office is considered “home base.” This role is performed more effectively on-site given access to certain tools or equipment. Positions include, but are not limited to, customer facing/supporting positions in Commercial Banking, Wealth Management, as well as bank branch opportunities. 
• Flexible: Work both on-site and remote with schedule agreed upon by manager. Will be on-site when business needs arise and for “moments that matter.” Areas typically include non-customer facing roles including Services and Support functions across the bank (HR, Operations, Marketing, Finance).
• Mostly Remote: Work primarily from home. Will be on-site when business needs arise and for “moments that matter.” Areas include, but are not limited to, IT, Mortgage and team members out of state.

Flexible Work Environment

At Commerce, we are committed to a safe working environment. We embrace a culture of innovation and AGILE thinking. So, when the pandemic first hit, we were prepared to pivot into a mostly remote working environment. And since then, we’ve learned a lot about technology, communication, and collaboration.

Over the last few years, many of our team members have come to appreciate the flexibility of remote work. We’ve seen it’s not just possible to work remotely – it’s also extremely effective. We trust our team members to get the work done and we believe in accountability for results. We empower our managers to make good decisions for their teams.

We’ve adopted a long-term approach to our flexible working environment – in both scheduling and location of work. All positions now fall into one of three office categories: mostly on-site, flexible, and mostly remote.
