Strong remote work culture. A good portion of staff work remotely so you're definitely included on calls and meetings. Home internet cost reimbursement and home work station set up is a plus.

EDUCAUSE has a work from home policy, but there are so many remote workers, especially at the Executive level, that communication suffers greatly, leading to animosity between those dedicated to showing up at the office and remote workers that sometimes make assumptions from partial or bad information. Executive members are all remote giving the work environment a strange feeling of orders emanating from an Ivory tower down to the common folk.

There are "distributed" staff who work from home in various states and there are some staff who regularly work 2 days a week from home but have regular hours to be in the Louisville office. Many employees can take their laptops home in the event inclement weather is going to close the office. There are staff who, because of their job duties or the personal preference of their supervisor, are not permitted to work from home.
