It is a good plan

great retirement plan for retirees

Great way to save was their 401K program and stock program. No discounts when purchasing FedEx stock, but payroll deduction is available.

they do match 3% on the 401k which is great.But the "portable pension" is useless. I was there for 6 years mostly part time and made about 30k per year, when I left the "portable pension" was $8,000 haha which is obviously pathetic.

After being there a year you get vested in the pension plan

Has been sliding for many years. Froze the traditional plan many years ago and replaced it with a defined contribution plan. On the positive side the traditional plan was kept, but depending on years into the plan, a major benefit reduction. The replacement plan only provides for 21% of the differential in lost benefit, for an overall 37% benefit reduction.
