Use to be better training and more frequent but absolutely available for those who wish

a verbal explanation and then you're thrown into the fire. Hope you made friends with other techs, they're gonna be the ones teaching you

paid training is a plus

Just wasn't very through and there were no opportunities for promotion

They are really good on making sure you get the training that you need.

Nonexistent. Or essentially so, they only sent the already best to learn more, never the newer people who had more need to learn. I was sent for a 3 day training where they taught how to be a salesperson to everyone in the class. Class of a dozen or so people...only one of them wasn't an automotive technician - the salesperson. It was fun, we did learn how Firestone wanted to run the shop, which is helpful to a tech., but they skipped over almost anything that wasn't specifically for a salesperson. The trainer even mentioned that that's how Firestone did it, even though he was trained and qualified to give both classes. They kept telling me they'd pay for my ASE qualifications, and everytime I went in to do it, the website "wouldn't" work. Oh, I know how that website works, they'd "help schedule" the test after you paid for it, but they promised they'd pay for it and never would.

Used to have a very good training program. Now education department is non existent
