When job training you get to meet the other person and get along with them on the way.

Usually one week, also required training again randomly for things that were missed during training.

It was very rushed because the restaurant was short staffed so they wanted to get me out on the floor as soon as possible

Training could be much better. 10 weeks but you still will not be fully ready for the job.

They usually keep you with a trainer long enough to make sure you aren't going to crash and burn. Not very formal, but they at least make sure you know what you're doing before they turn you loose.
