Employees who want to supplement their group life insurance benefits may purchase additional coverage. When you enroll yourself and/or your dependents in this benefit, you pay the full cost through post‐tax payroll deductions.

Employees must elect coverage for themselves in order to cover dependents.

An employee may elect an amount of insurance in increments of $10,000 to a maximum of $300,000. Guarantee Issue under age 70 is $100,000 and age 70 and over is $10,000.

You may cover your spouse for amounts in $5,000 units to a maximum or $100,000 (not to exceed the employee’s coverage amount). Guarantee Issue under age 70 is $25,000 and age 70 and over is $10,000. The Spouse rate is based upon his/her individual age.

For children 14 days or older, you may purchase $5,000 or $10,000 in term life coverage. Children under 14 days are eligible for a $1,000 benefit.

Supplemental benefits will reduce by 35% at age 70 with an additional 20% reduction at age 75.
