They do it! In fact, RESO, their real-estate team, has previously been incented to dump their real-estate in favor of not having much. You gotta pay for your own WiFi access since ~2009, but you're gonna do that anyway or "borrow" it from your friends...

Most managers allow employees to work from home. My last manager stopped this in 2013, and that last year was the most miserable time for every single employee in the dept. At least 10% retired, quit, or moved to different departments.

I work from home full time. Only because the office is too far from current location. They prefer I work in the office.

job and function specific, but if you can work from home, expect to be targeted for outsourcing at some point. You better have unique value if you truly want to work from home (like a government account that requires US Based employees in their services contracts, etc).

The classic joke at IBM: One reporter went to the CEO and ask him: How many people work at IBM? And he said: Half of them. ! lol . The place and culture is used to work in distributed/global environment. I can be working from home, talking with one guy in india, and another in germany and the people in my office... that's common. So, 100% flexibility. It is perfect to go to my home country for long periods of time.
