Life Insurance

Life insurance is free for all employees. Extra insurance can be bought for rather low prices.

Only the full-time employees get life insurance. The company says they give $10,000 from their pockets to an employee that passes away, but I've never seen it happen. I've known only two people to pass away and I don't know if their families received that. It costs $0.10 per $10,000 for spouse and child (children) a week from your paycheck before taxes. And you can only go up to $20,000 for other close family members. You can choose up to $250,000 for yourself though, but then you have to submit a physical to the company. So basically they want to make sure your healthy before they APPOVE you for $250,000 life insurance policy and they ask WHY you want that amount. I disagree with their questioning on that, if they offer it and you want it and want to pay the premium they shouldn't question you like they want to offer it but not really give it to everyone. And spouse and children should be offered more too. $20,000 to me isn't enough, not when you can get $250,000 for yourself.
