With the birth of our Daughter Instructure sent our family a blanket with our daughters name and DOB embroidered on it... it was a very sweet sentiment, and the paternity leave was great!

Maternity leave is longer than the typical leave given in Utah.

Paternity leave is 2 weeks, which is awesome. And according to our employee handbook, for maternity leave you get 6-7 weeks of your full salary and then 6 weeks of Short Term Disability. I have also heard they are really great at working with you when you come back to work, such as letting you work from home a couple of days a week and such, so women can ease back into work.

None of the above are applicable anymore. Currently, according to the employee handbook, the maternity leave is only 2 weeks. If you want to take longer you will not be paid and you will have to ask for it. I am just really surprised that in the most important time of a women's life and probably the most expensive time for a family Instructure is not taking care of its employees. I am pregnant and have no idea what I am going to do. I feel very discouraged.

We apologize for the misunderstanding of our maternity leave program. Some clarification and better communication may be helpful. We currently pay 3 weeks full salary and 6 weeks at 60% of salary. We will be enhancing this program during our benefit program renewal in August as we work to expand our benefit programs. Additionally, we provide flexible work schedules upon returning to work to allow additional family time. Our people team can help you with more details if you would like more information.
