I am not sure what the employee stock purchase plan is since it is not offered to interns and other co-ops. The company stocks seem to be performing very well.

The quarterly participation of the Employee stock purchase plan is a huge benefit to enter or pull out as needed.

The stock is down by 50% between 2016 and 2015. It once traded at >$120 but as of this writing it is between $60-$70 (back where it started in 2013.) Not sure whether it will keep sliding or if it is a good buy right now. You can participate in the ESP separately from the 401k.
