The worst thing about working from home for Magic Ears is that they do not help with any overhead costs. All costs on put solely on the applicant. The company does not send equipment or anything you need to start. This is in stark contrast to my partner’s at-home employer which sent him a computer, three monitors, a headset and a camera in the mail. I already had my own computer so that’s fine, but they could have helped with the cost of the headset, mic, camera, lighting kit or TESOL certification. The company pays very little and yet wants you to buy all these things out of pocket, including hundreds of props.

I teach in pajama bottoms! And I get to stay home with my newborn baby, but also work enough to provide for our small family while my husband is in school.

I love the fact that I can get up early before anyone in my house is up, work, and make good money while doing it. I absolutely love that Magic Ears understands our life and because we are working from home, any natural disaster could affect our ability to work!
Not only do I get to teach cute kids from China from the comfort of my own home each morning (and occasionally in the evening), I also get to help the company with different projects and marketing throughout the day while still at home! Can you say "Referral bonuses?!"
