Very good benefits that include a company matching benefit and a non-elective benefit

Not as good as the Defined Benefit plan it replaced. Matching could be higher.

If you have at least one year of service, Mercer will contribute 4% of your eligible base pay, whether or not you make an employee contribution. In addition, after you complete one year service, Mercer will match 50% on the first 6% of base pay that you contribute. Company contributions don't vest until you have 2 years of service; after that they vest at a rate of 1/3 for 3 years. You will not be fully vested until you have completed 4 years of service.

The plan was less than easy to have rollovers into and out of the plan. Flexibility was not a word i'd use to describe.

Overall the plan is very good. The company does match contributions, and they offer programs to assist in retirement planning. They also provide materials to help with detailed options.

401k is average. Starts off below market and ends up being above market if you stay for a long time.
