Pension plan is ok but they give u the run around to enroll.

You have to work several years before a pension is provided. I don't recall the number of years.

You can start saving right away for your retirement. Please join the pension plan as soon as possible so you won't have to buy back time. I did not join until 3 years after I started and had to buy back.

NYCERS city pension depending on year going into metroplus would be the percentage you contribute to the pension. Get vested 10 years, retire in 20 years. Once retired you get half the highest salary you had while working there on top of what you contributed.

You must be vested 10 years.
