They will match your 401k investment by half up to 3%. So, if you invest 10% of your salary to your 401k, then they will still match 3%. If you invest 3% into your 401k, they will match 1.5%.

This was my first job with 401K, so I don't have much to compare it to. I will say the company I am working for now only offers 2% compared to NW's 6% company max. but then again, my new job is a start up company.

Nationwide has a standard managed program which changed from Schwab to Fidelity recently. Employees are vested after 5 years. There is a minimum company match % rate. The account builds based on what you contribute monthly and whatever the third party portfolio management company achieves during the year.
