Best: They Eliminated the deductible
Worst: coverage for orthodontia ends at age 19- so if you don't have braces in place by age 19, there's no coverage, even if you've reached the lifetime max. (The exception is if you're in the Dental HMO/DPO plan-however, there are NO orthodontists participating in the plan within 100 miles of Des Moines who are accepting new patients, so it's basically a sham of a plan.) I know it's pretty standard to age out at 19, but it's meh.

Dental insurance was pretty good. I do recall having a root canal once, which insurance did not cover entirely, but it certainly helped. Annual cleanings were included.

The dental insurance is pretty much the same as most, but they do have 2 different options. The difference in cost is like $2 a pay, so I don't know why anyone would take the more restrictive option.
