Can only choose between 3 plans offered by company. Plans have detailed information about coverage provided. Insurance stopped covering name-brand prescription drugs and only seemed to over generic prescription drugs.

The last few years, they raised our Healthcare roughly $60 per month. Recently employees found out through a legal team that nisource over charges it's Healthcare fees (they are self funded) then pockets the left over money at the end of each year. Company wide its in the 10's of millions.

They have options, overall not that bad. Pretty basic for a fortune 500 company.

Great benefits packages that cover all different kinds of people and life styles. Vision coverage was especially great when I was there. Never had an issue with insurance claims and felt they were reasonably priced.

Encouraged to use a high deductible PPO with a high deductible. HMO used to be offered, but is no longer offered.
