Best 401k plan I've seen. Philips matches 100% for the first 4% of employee contributions, then 50% for next 2%. This equates to 7% Philips match for 6% of employee contribution.

401K is very good. As is still inferior to those European Pharmaceutical companies (they usually have 401K + pension = 9% ~ 15% match of your base salary, depending on the serving years), it is very good at 1.5 * 4% + 0.5 * 2%. So you could choose 6+4 or 7+6. Vanguard is also good, performance is satisfactory.

It is a 401K, they do some matching (I believe up to 6%), no risk for the company with a 401K unlike a pension but those days are over so it is a gift and appreciated.

Philips provides a 401k plan with a reputable company and also matches contributions to a certain percentage. The plan seems to be equal to the industry standard for 401k plans.
