There are no sick days at Portland State University if you work as a Teaching Assistant

accrue eight (8) sick hours a month, however you can flex your hours so you can save up your sick leave until needed.

Very flexible: if you need to call in, just call in. No paid sick days. Very flexible overall if you need time off.

They have a fairly acceptable sick leave policy that works well for normal people but if you develop a serious illness or are hospitalized for an extended period and you have paid for short term and long term disability insurance, you are in for a very hard time at the hands of the organizations that handles PSU's disability insurance. A very dishonest group of people and organization.
