They actually still have a pension plan aside from the 401k where they have a good match.

Could not be a more deceitful plan. Possibly legal but not ETHICAL. Due to a employee class action settlement PFG was banned from offering their own products to employees, due to inflated expense fee's in the investment. It was some how then approved that PFG can now charge a management fee to replace the lost profit that pfg was not legally acquiring previously.

Principals has many loopholes in the 401K plan. Loopholes for not matching, loopholes on trades. Principal has been under ERISA investigation with settlement admitting no wrongdoing settlements.

So far, I'm very satisfied. There are many options to customize your investments to your comfort level and I like having that flexibility. Love the company match, too--It puts me at ease to know I'm always saving a solid amount of my income for retirement.

Interns were not given this option. Compensation is great compared to other internships around this area.
