This is not your grandfather's pension plan that will cover you for life, but the simple fact they have a pension plan at all, and you are vested after just 3 years is excellent. The average employee I'd say leaves Pru knowing when they retire their pension will cover a utility bill (or all your utilities if you're there over 20 years) would be my guess. Not too bad.

feels great as you contribute nothing in this, they also give you some retirement medical pension money for using it after retirement, not vested until 3 years with the company
