Publix offers a great benefit plan that has helped myself. However, the excessive plan changes made annually have been a consistent hindurance.

It's the major retention factor for keeping Publix employees retirement benefits for part time workers....poor wages are made attractive by an effective 20% retirement of weekly pay plus quarterly bonuses for the 5 years I worked after the 6 month probation

Besides 401k plan, Pubix offers a profit stock share plan that you can earn stock by the amount of time you spend working as well as opportunity to purchase stock within the company.

Smart Plan is great as it gives associates 8 percent of their annual pay in publix stocks at the end of the year. Vesting period is kinda long at 3 years.

Publix starts all employees with stock options that are avialable to sell, change, etc after certain amount of time is worked at the company

Two plans are great, however heavy penalties if you retire before 59 1/2. Depends on stock price going up for Publix stock which is set by Corp then submitted to SEC.

Great plan I ave my 10% and get a $0.50 to the dollar on it and it's great when I buy more stock as we are increasing 7% sales per year...
