It was great to be able to go to any doctor you needed to without a referral, but the costs were very, very high out of pocket compared to similar healthcare/tech companies.

Outstanding: very low employee contributions, way more than offset by company deposits into HSA account. Effectively free unless you have more than regular checkups (vision, medical, dental) and a couple of visits to the doctor.

It's not an expensive plan, but it's a high-deductible plan. If you're young and/or healthy, you more or less pay out of pocket for medical. If you have something happen, it's fine, but otherwise it's not very good.
