401K Plan

They cut the company match significantly. When I first started, they'd match up to 6%. Last I heard, it was only half of 3%.

Match is bad. Previous job matched a much higher rate. This is one area SAIC is sorely lacking in.

Small match - The Vanguard funds have performed very well

Only a 4% contribution match for 401k

SAIC's 401k is through Vanguard. I can attest that SAIC does not match in all fringe packages, but some they do -- albeit, not much (5%), unless you're at management level. I was in a group that was accidentally matched at 5%, due to a glitch, for about two months; once HR found out about it, the company revoked what they contributed. Their 401k is a sham -- might as well get one on your own.

I don't remember how much they matched exactly but I remember it being far lower than other defense contractors I have worked at.

SAIC's 401K is great! Lots of options and mobility for managing your money either at a finite detail or high level depending on your desire.

Match 50% on the dollar up to 6%, so really 3%.
