401K Plan

The 401k matching is very generous and makes a huge difference.

average or better matching, administered through Fidelity

Pretty standard 401K. I've seen 3-4 of them and this one seems well managed and gets good results if you do a little research on best options.

only match upto $4k a year... not a lot at all

standard. nothing great. 50 percent match up to 6 percent. In all honestly, while this 401k match is typical of most employers. It's falls far short, on helping people save for retirement. Say you make 50k a year. The 401k match gives you 1500 a year. No one can retire on that, unless you plan on working 100 yrs. Match should be 100 percent upto 10-12 percent. But companies are happy to offer as little as possible, after getting rid of pensions.

It's not a bad program, the company match is pretty much industry standard. With that said, it certainly doesn't live up to the #dreamjob promise. Perhaps a greater return on investment is achieved by spending the funds on sexier perks, like $5 million christmas parties?
