Shell Canada offers working parents subsidized, short-term emergency childcare for children aged infant to 13 years. Employees may use this service in the following circumstances:
- Primary childcare provider is unavailable due to illness, vacation, or other obligations. (Your primary childcare provider does not have to be outside of your household or family - for example it may be your spouse or your parents.)
- Nanny quits or is terminated.
- Childcare centre closes.
- Child's school has a professional day or is unexpectedly closed.
- Travelling on business.
- Return from parental leave earlier than you originally planned.
- Other business commitments that affect your childcare arrangements.
