While a lot of time is spent on training, very little of the procedures are actually followed in the classroom. When dealing with middle management, there is always an exception to every rule. However if something doesn't go according to plan, corporate will refer back to the "official" training and you are left with a write up or worse, fired, despite doing exactly what you were told to do.
